Hello
I'm Jane,
a BABCP-accredited therapist
in CBT
(Cognitive Behavioural Therapy)

I bring to my therapy with you, a wealth of skills and experience - from working in different professional mental health settings, as well as specialist approaches and interests.
In my therapy sessions, I use CBT alongside additional training and lifelong experiential learning to help my clients better understand their thoughts, feelings and behaviours in real-life contexts.
Whether you're just beginning your journey to better mental health or seeking a new perspective, I'm here to provide the guidance and support you need.

My experience
For over 20 years, my career has spanned different aspects of mental health service delivery and development - from 13 years in the NHS to time spent working in the charitable sector to more recent work in higher education. Starting out as a practitioner, I have held operational and strategic management positions, returning to my current role as a cognitive behavioural psychotherapist in private practice. This is where my true passion lies, practising CBT with a diverse range of clients and helping facilitate the changes they want to make in their lives. In turn, that passion underpins the guidance and support I offer other trainees and therapists through clinical supervision, and also the knowledge I share with students in university teaching settings.

My values
With a rich and varied life journey, I bring not only professional training but also the depth of perspective that comes with experience. Over the years, I’ve gained insight into the many challenges and transitions that life can bring. This informs my clinical work, allowing me to meet clients with empathy, realism, and an understanding of the complexities of human experience. My approach integrates evidence-based CBT with a non-judgmental and compassionate presence, helping clients create meaningful and lasting change.

A little more about me
Aside from my work, the things that bring me joy and pleasure are often the simplest.
I enjoy spending time outdoors, especially walking by myself or with family and friends. (All the photos on this website are from walks I’ve enjoyed and views I’ve cherished.) I love coastlines, from local Lancashire beaches to the shores of Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland, Spain, Greece and beyond. Outdoor Therapy is a wonderful opportunity to share and explore a connection to nature with others - read more about this here.
I especially love cooking and creating in the kitchen. Travel inspires me anytime I have the opportunity. And music nourishes me on a daily basis.
